Prepare Now for Your 2012 Meaningful Use Attestation:
Step 1– Register for the Medicare or Medicaid Program
1. Medicare or Medicaid?
- Refer to “Eligibility Considerations” if you are unsure which program your Providers are eligible for.
- Refer to your Specialty Board, local or state Medical Society for speciality specific questions about being eligible for either programs.

- Refer to the “How to run a Medicare/Medicaid Report ”:
- Medicare: Verify that you meet the required $ limit for Medicare
- Medicaid: Due to the complexity of the report, please submit an optimization masterfile request form.
2. Prepare for Registration
- Medicare Requirements: Explains the requirements you will need in order to register a provider with either the Medicaid or Medicare Incentive Program.

3. Register with CMS:

Step 2– Understand Meaningful Use of the EHR
Meaningful Use Power Point Training: This training documentation includes an in depth approach to how to meet every Meaningful Use. Every Measure drills down to each possible workflow that can be done to meet a measure.
Training Includes:
- A detailed document explaining the measures objectives, description, reporting requirements and exclusions.
- A Video recording demonstrating all the possible the step by step workflows to meet the measure.
- Step by Step Workflows & Gap Analysis: This training documentation is a quick and easy approach to verify that you and your office staff are currently using the correct workflows to meet all the Meaningful Use Measures. The document allows an easy way to identify if the measure is a current process in your office or an identified gap. This tool will allow your office to make the decision of who in your office is going to fill the gap and when.
Step 3– Submit Masterfile Request form to Allscripts Team
- Located on the SFHCP Website in Masterfiles webpage and Meaningful Use Webpage
Step 4– Begin Best Practice Workflows and use the EHR “Meaningfully!”
1. View your Stimulus report often to see your progression. When you have a Successful 90 day period that has met Meaningful Use, Attest with CMS.
2. When viewing you Stimulus Reports, refer back to educational resources if you realize you are not meeting the requirements of a measure
